New Kia Niro Named on KBB's Top Eco-Friendly Cars List

Kia Niro

The all-new Kia Niro was one of four Kia cars named on KBB’s latest “Top Eco-Friendly Cars” lists, sharing the honor with the Optima Hybrid, Optima PHEV and Kia Soul EV.

KBB puts out these lists annually, looking at everything from the “Best Hybrid Cars Under $40,000” and the “Best Plug-In Hybrid Cars Under $40,000.” All four models made a big impression on the automotive experts, who study and rate various models currently available on the market and recommend the best choices for consumers to consider.

“We’re very proud of the strides the Kia brand has been making to achieve its goal of increasing electrification and improving overall fuel economy by 2020,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, Product Planning, KMA. “Having four of our vehicles recognized by Kelley Blue Book as top ‘eco-friendly’ choices validates our priorities to the environment as well as our efforts to maximize affordability.”

The brand-new Kia Niro offers an excellent level of fuel economy (EPA-estimated 50 mpg city/highway combined), thanks to its innovative hybrid powertrain. Both Optima models are also impressive, continuing to provide the same levels of power and comfort that have made the standard model so popular, but with even more added savings at the fuel pump.
