2017 Kia Cadenza Earns Top Safety Rating from IIHS

The 2017 Kia Cadenza has been awarded the top safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS): Top Safety Pick Plus.

This award is one of the most prestigious in the industry, highlighting vehicles that go above and beyond when it comes to safety. This year, the 2017 Cadenza comes with not only available front crash prevention, but also specific headlights, both of which earned it a TSP+ rating.

To get the “plus” distinction on a Top Safety Pick award cars must come with a forward crash prevention system. But that wasn’t the only safety feature that impressed the IIHS. They also liked the luxury sedan’s Smart Blind Spot Detection System, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Advanced High Strength Steel and Autonomous Emergency Braking System.

The IIHS tests multiple areas of a vehicle, including small overlap front, side impact, roof strength, moderate overlap front and head restraints. The Cadenza earned top marks in all these areas, including a top score for their forward collision prevention technology.

“The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is one of the most respected organizations in the industry when it comes to evaluating vehicle safety, and this designation is a great achievement that speaks to Kia’s commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, KMA. “We are proud that the Cadenza received across-the-board good crashworthiness ratings, which is another testament to the efforts of our engineers and the integrity of our vehicles.”
