The Kia Sportage is one of the most well-known crossovers in America and scores big points for its modern design. The new Arrow-shaped LED accent lighting on the front points to a new grille and a new future for the Sportage. Performance

The LX and EX are the first two trims in the lineup and come with a 187-horsepower 2.5L engine with 178 lb-ft of torque and a very smooth 8-speed automatic transmission. You'll also find both models with 2,500 pounds of max towing capacity. The performance of the LX and EX will differ slightly because of the driver-assist features that come on both models. For example, you'll get blind-spot collision-avoidance assistance and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance on the EX trim. This sometimes enhances the level of confidence a driver has when using their full horsepower and maneuvering systems.

Appearance

There are a few striking differences between the LX and EX. The LX has a black grille with silver accents, and the EX boasts a gloss black front grille with silver accents. If you love the glossy black look, the EX has it. You can also add low-profile gloss black roof rails to the EX trim or grab a panoramic sunroof that's not available on the Sportage LX.

Features

The first two trims of the Sportage finally go all-modern this year with features like a standard 12.2-inch digital instrument display. Kia takes the EX's technology even further with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Kia Connect and Navigation. An LX trim is richly decorated with USB charging ports, but the EX gives you wireless device charging and a chance to go wire-free often. Your seating on the LX is standard Saturn Black Woven Cloth. The EX delivers two choices: Perforated Misty Gray SynTex or Perforated Saturn Black SynTex. What's important to note is just how quality both interiors are. Their upholsteries are upgraded from last year and worth a look from anyone who appreciates sporty crossover SUVs.
