Specs at a Glance

The stylish, sleek Kia EV9 continues making a name for itself this year with smart and responsive all-wheel drive and practical niceties like a large 3rd row for its families. Known for being easy and fast to charge thanks to DC fast-charging, the EV9 will be a family favorite for years to come. Today, we look at the EV9 Light trim and its Wind trim. One of these could make your family very happy.

Performance

The Light trim boasts 215 horsepower, a powerful and efficient showing for an early trim. However, for extra 0-60 power, the Wind AWD is rated at 379 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque (with the option for 516 lb-ft of torque available to those who need or want it).

Appearance

Both the Light Range Light and Wind trims come in an assortment of striking colors: Panthera Metal, Ivory Silver, and Ebony Black. The Wind is also available in a deep, rewarding Ocean Blue color that's not available on the Light. Each model gets 19-inch alloy wheels with a black & machined finish, LED projector beam headlamps, and LED taillamps. Wind trims get low-profile silver roof rails. The EV9 is handsome no matter which trim you choose, but small details matter to buyers.

Features

The 2026 Kia EV9 is heavily devoted to technology. Light (Short Range) and Wind trims come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with navigation, Smart-Touch haptic controls, and a wireless phone charger. Wind trims throw in extras like a heated steering wheel, 4-way power lumbar support, and memory settings for the seat, side view mirrors, and steering wheel. Interior materials for the Light include Black and Dark Gray SynTex seat trim, while the Wind gets two choices: Black and Dark Gray Embossed Dot SynTex seating or Dark Gray and Light Gray Embossed Dot SynTex seating. Driver-assist features are the same across these two trims, including Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Highway Driving Assist 2. Only the Wind gets Parking-Collision Avoidance Assist- Reverse.
