What's New For the 2020 Kia Soul?

For 2020, Kia has introduced the third generation of the subcompact crossover known as the Soul. The Soul has been completely redesigned. There is a new base platform and base engine as well as new technology and active safety features. Even with the new design the Soul retains its distinctive look.


2020 Kia Soul Interior

2020 Kia Soul Trims and Features

There are six available trims for the 2020 Kia Soul. They are the LX, the S, the X-Line, the EX, the GT-Line and the GT-Line Turbo.

The LX is the base trim of the new Kia Soul. It features a standard six-speed manual transmission. All other models except the GT-Line Turbo feature a standard Intelligent Variable transmission, and the GT-Line Turbo features a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. All models except the EX and GT-Line Turbo feature a seven-inch touch-screen, and these models have a 10.25 inch color touch-screen display with Sirius XM satellite radio and a premium navigation system.

The GT-Line Turbo features a Harman/Kardon audio system. All models have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as well as hands-free wireless technology for improved connectivity with the outside world. The EX and GT-Line Turbo feature automatic temperature control air conditioning while the other models feature manually controlled single zone air conditioning.

2020 Kia Soul Horsepower

All models except the GT-Line Turbo feature a 2.0 liter, dual overhead cam, 16 valve, in-line four cylinder engine that provides 147 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 132 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. The GT-Line Turbo features a 1.6 liter, dual overhead cam, 16 valve, in-line four cylinder engine with a turbo charger. The engine of the GT-Line Turbo provides 201 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 195 lb-ft of torque at 1500-4500 rpm.

Kia Soul Safety

All models of the Kia Soul are equipped with dual front advanced air bags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. For improved traction, there is Electronic Stability Control and Vehicle Stability Management. Hill Start Assist Control makes starting from a complete stop on a hill an easier prospect. Electronic Brake Force Distribution detects road conditions to help automatically determine the amount of force needed on each wheel in order to slow or stop the car.
