What's New for the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV?

The 2022 Kia Carnival is an all-new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that drivers and their families are sure to love. Replacing the Sedona, Carnival is a total departure from Kia's venerable outgoing minivan. It claims the unoccupied space between SUV and family hauler and is also the first vehicle to be sold in America with Kia's new logo. There is a long list of standard equipment for this vehicle, including an impressive number of driver assistance features. In addition, the Carnival offers best-in-class power and cargo space, making it a standout in its segment.

2022 Kia Carnival Trims & Features

There are five versions of the 2022 Carnival to choose from. They are the LX, LX Seat Package, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. The LX comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen display and a rearview monitor, LED headlights, power-sliding rear doors, and remote start. It also has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with seven USB ports arranged throughout the cabin. Seating is the LX Seat Package's focus, so it includes heated front seats, SynTex seating trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, and power driver's seat with power lumbar support.

Many will be drawn to the EX trim, with its in-cabin intercom and camera system. This trim level has tri-zone auto climate control and a 12.3-inch display along with a power liftgate. At the SX trim level, the 2022 Carnival MPV gains ventilated front seats, 19-inch black alloy wheels, LED fog lights, 115V power outlets, and a dual-screen rear entertainment center.

The fully-loaded model of the 2022 Carnival is the SX Prestige. It starts with dual power-tilting and sliding sunroofs. Other additions here include heated and ventilated front- and second-row seats, leather seat trim, heated steering wheel, a 12-speaker premium Bose audio system, and memory settings for the driver's seat.

2022 Kia Carnival Horsepower

All of the 2022 Carnival models are powered by a 3.5L V6 engine. It delivers a satisfying 290 horsepower and 262 Lb-Ft of torque and works smoothly with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powerful family vehicle can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Kia Carnival Safety Features

The Carnival MPV comes standard with Kia Drive Wise Driver Assist Technology. This means it has a lane-keeping assist, rear-cross traffic alert and avoidance, blind-spot detection, and automatic emergency braking. Further helping to keep everyone safe are standard features like Safe Exit Assist and the rear occupant alert featuring ultrasonic sensors.
