Kia Motor Corp has just announced that it will be increasing its hybrid and electric car offerings to nearly 20 models by the year 2020. Kia has been looking for new, innovative ways to further their place in the green car market and this announcement shows the automaker's continuing commitment to creating some of the most fuel efficient cars available today.

The automaker already offers several green car options that boast terrific fuel efficiency and green gas emissions, including the brand-new Kia Soul EV that is making its way onto the marketplace sometime next year. Kia also offers several standard vehicles that are available with a hybrid powertrain.

"We have set an internal target of making it to No.2 in the global eco-friendly car market, which is expected to grow from this year's 2.2 million vehicles to 6.4 million in 2020," Kia said in a statement.

Kia's most recent green car adventure, the Kia Soul EV,  has debuted with great reviews, with Edmunds.com saying of the hatchback, "[the Soul EV's] funky styling and fun-to-drive attitude should make it ideal for short-range city and suburban commuting." The electric car's 93-mile all-electric driving range, as well as its comfortable and lush interior, have also been the subject of numerous praise from green car enthusiasts and drivers, alike.

It's no wonder then why the automaker has decided to continue its winning green car streak. There's no word yet on what the next green car offerings may be from Kia, but keep checking our blog for all the latest updates on when the cars will be making their way to Camelback Kia.
