For a third year in a row, the non-profit organization, Roosevelt Row CDC, is hosting their annual Chile Pepper Festival. Packed with fun, tasty events like cooking demos, salsa dancing, live music and a gourmet margarita station (!), the 3rd annual Chile Pepper Festival is set to be the most flavorful event you'll attend all year!
First held in 2012, the Chile Pepper Festival is a fantastic, family-friendly event that highlights local chefs and restaurateurs, musical artists, businesses, and of course, Phoenix's trademark veggie, the chile pepper!
Working to build a diverse, walkable and vibrant arts district here in downtown Phoenix, Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation will be using all proceeds from this year's Chile Pepper Fest to support their Growhouse Community Garden, which aims to teach adults and teens about urban agriculture and the importance of healthy food choices.
And be sure to stay for the end as the festival will be crowning its newest Chile Pepper Champion (someone in the community working to promote healthy living) as well as awarding a local restaurant with a grand prize for the best chile-themed dish in the fan-favorite Chile Competition!
This year's Chile Pepper Festival will be held once again at the Phoenix Public Market on September 27th from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. So come on down to downtown Phoenix this month to experience all the fun of this terrific community event. General admission is free with food and beverage available for purchase.
