If you’ve been hankering for a Kia sports car since you saw the gorgeous GT4 Stinger concept back in 2014, you’ll be very happy to learn that the automaker is looking to create a performance coupe by the end of the decade.

Speaking to journalists, Kia Executive Paul Philpott has said that the company will have a version of the GT4 Stinger on the market before 2020. He said this new sports car will be fast, affordable and stylish, which is very exciting news for Kia fans who have wanted to get behind the wheel of a Kia-made sports model for some time. The GT4 was a huge hit at the Detroit Auto Show where it debuted, so we know that fans will be very pleased with this new roadster.

“Kia has a history of delivering production vehicles that bear a strong resemblance to the concept that preceded them, and the GT4 Stinger provides a possible and highly provocative glimpse into Kia’s future," the Korean automaker said of the concept.

The Kia GT4 Concept featured a host of terrific speed and sport features, such as rear-wheel drive, a six-speed manual transmission and a 315-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The car also included aluminum center-lock 20-inch wheels, Brembo disc brakes, 15-inch cross-drilled rotors and double wishbone suspensions for both the front and the rear.

We are very excited to see what kind of sports car eventually heads to our Kia dealership in Phoenix. For now take a look at our full stock of new Kia cars to find your next new ride today!
