The Telluride concept was the biggest debut at this year’s Detroit Motor Show, but many critics and fans also called out the latest editions of the Kia Forte and Kia Forte5 as exciting new additions to the automaker's lineup.

Kia has redone the sedan and hatchback’s front-end with a new tiger-nose grille and more angular headlamps. The automaker also added LED taillights that are specific to each model. Inside, both cars get a 7-inch infotainment display that supports Kia’s Uvo system, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Engine options have also changed. According to a recent Kia press release, “Replacing last year's 1.8-liter inline-4 cylinder engine beneath the hood, the 2017 Forte now comes standard with a 2.0-liter Atkinson I-4, which is paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an available second-generation six-speed automatic transmission that has been engineered to help improve fuel economy. The EX trim is equipped with the tried-and-true 2.0-liter GDI I-4 and six-speed automatic.”

Kia isn’t stopping at the sedan and hatch models of the Forte. The automaker is also set to debut a brand-new Forte Koup model that will add even more sport and agility to this popular line of new Kia cars.
