July 22nd-23rd is bound to be a fun weekend for beer fans in the Phoenix area. The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild is hosting the first ever AZ Brewcon! This one-day conference is designed for brewers and operations managers alike to learn more about the craft (pun intended) brewery management. The Real, Wild and Woody Beer Festival will be held the next day. With 50+ craft brewers and several restaurants catering, it is a can’t miss event.

AZ Brewcon is technically kicked off the evening of the 21st with a free pre-event “How to Open a Brewery.” If you’re looking to get into the craft beer industry, you will definitely want to be in attendance! After the pre-event, make sure to go home and get a good night’s sleep because Brewcon check-in starts bright and early at 8am the next day. The conference offers two seminar tracks. The brewers track provides education on barrel aging, canning and the sciences that go into brewing. The operations track offers further insight into managing retail chains, distributing products, media practices and more. Attendees can expect to learn a lot from those inside the industry. A craft beer tasting will close out the day.

For more information or to purchase tickets for AZ Brewcon, visit the event’s webpage.

The Real, Wild and Woody Festival is named as a homage to real ale, “wild” brew (beer that contains Brett qualities) and wood barrel aged beer. All three of these you can expect to find at the festival! With over 50 of the Southwest’s best craft brewers and specialty casks and never-before-seen brews, festival-goers will have barrels of fun. The region’s top restaurants will be serving small bites and there will be live music throughout the event. Tickets get you 20 tasting tickets and food, not to mention a commemorative glass! There are also special tickets available for designated drivers. This event is 21+, although babies under six months will be allowed in.

More information and ticket prices can be found on the Real, Wild and Woody Beer Festival’s site. Please drink responsibly!
