What's New For The 2020 Kia Sportage?

In 2020, the Kia Sportage adds to its already generous list of standard features. The latest Sportage also gets a new look that gives it a simultaneously sportier and more refined appearance. More safety features are now standard, including adaptive cruise control. An eight-inch infotainment system is now offered at the base level. The Sportage stands out for its smooth ride and exceptional handling. Both the front and back seats have plenty of space for five occupants. The dashboard features an attractive design with appealing, user-friendly features. You can learn all about what the Sportage offers, but the only way to discover all that it offers is to see it in person.

2020 Sportage Trims & Features

There are four trim levels of the Sportage. The base model features an intuitive touchscreen with hands-free wireless, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and voice recognition. Hands-free calling makes driving safer.

On the second trim level, which is the S, you'll get satellite radio and traffic information as well. The top trim level of the Sportage, called the SX Turbo, comes standard with a touchscreen display that has navigation and satellite radio. A six-speaker sound system is standard on the first three trim levels, but the SX Turbo kicks it up a notch with an eight-speaker sound system. A backup display is a standard across the board. Single-zone air conditioning is standard in the LX, which is the base model, while the rest get dual-zone AC. Seating material also varies. The LX has soft cloth seats. The two mid-level trims have leatherette seats. Leather seats are available on the EX and standard on the SX Turbo.

Heated front seats are standard on the top two trims and available on the others. Ventilated front seats are standard on the SX Turbo and optional on the EX. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, which you'll get on all trims except the LX, makes the Sportage's already comfortable ride even better. All vehicles have multiple 12V power outlets, while the SX Turbo gets a wireless charger, too.

2020 Kia Sportage Horsepower

There are two engines available with the 2020 Kia Sportage. The base engine is a 2.4L with four cylinders. This engine has a power capacity of 181 HP at 6,000 RPM and 175 LB-FT of torque with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

The SX Turbo has a more powerful engine. Its engine is a 2.0L turbo with four cylinders. The engine on the SX Turbo generates 240 HP at 6,000 RPM with front-wheel drive and 237 HP at 6,000 RPM with all-wheel drive. Torque production is the same for both drivetrains at 260 LB-FT between 1,450 and 3,500 RPM. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines.

Kia Sportage Safety

No matter which trim you decide on, safety is a priority in the 2020 Kia Sportage. Dual-stage airbags are standard in the front and on the sides. The Sportage also has side curtain airbags. A rollover sensor deploys the airbags if the car is involved in a rollover. Electronic stability control, traction control, and hill start assist are other safety features. Lane-keep assist, forward collision avoidance, driver attention warning, and blind-spot monitoring are standard or available.
