The Kia Corporation has received a Bronze award at the 2026 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) on September 3 in Seoul, South Korea. The award was given for the Kia PV5 Infotainment System in IDEA's Digital Interaction and Social Impact Design categories. Kia's global campaign with The Ocean Cleanup was also named a finalist.
Kia PV5 Infotainment System
The Kia PV5 Infotainment System was developed for Kia's first dedicated electric Platform Beyond Vehicle, or PBV. The PV5 Infotainment System was recognized for its user-friendly design and software-driven mobility experience, and it includes features such as a 16:9 widescreen display and an easy-to-understand integrated design language. It enables flexible business, service, and lifestyle applications that allow users to make quick phone calls, access media, and control the vehicle's climate through a smartphone-style interface.
Kia x The Ocean Cleanup Campaign
Meanwhile, Kia's campaign with The Ocean Cleanup was named an IDEA finalist. The global campaign, "Kia x The Ocean Cleanup: Creating a Wave of Movement, Together," was developed as a seven-part video series that builds on Kia's ongoing support for The Ocean Cleanup's work and reflects the two organizations' shared vision of a plastic-free ocean. The videos rely on engaging, purposeful storytelling to inspire action to clean up the world's oceans. To date, The Ocean Cleanup has removed more than 42 million kilograms of marine waste, and Kia hopes to help them continue their work with their latest global campaign.
