2021 Kia Soul

What's New for the 2021 Kia Soul?

The Kia Soul has exciting changes for the 2021 model year. The uniquely designed subcompact vehicle that borrows SUV and hatchback design cues now has Rear Occupant Alert for all trims. This alert notifies the driver that someone is still in the vehicle's back seat to reduce the chances of someone being left behind. The top-of-the-line GT-Line Turbo is now simply known as the Turbo, and the EX joins it in gaining a key fob with a built-in remote start function. New shocks are added on the mid-level X-Line and GT-Line for better cushioning on the road.

2021 Soul Trims & Features

The 2021 Kia Soul is available in LX, S, GT-Line, X-Line, EX, and Turbo trims, all of which offer seating for five. Cloth seating comes standard, but select upper-level trims include enhancements such as premium tricot cloth or leatherette-and-cloth seat trim, front-seat and steering-wheel heating, leather wrapping on the steering wheel, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 2-way power lumbar support.

Infotainment on the Soul is provided by a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth wireless technology, a USB port and an audio jack for connecting mobile devices, smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch touchscreen. Remote keyless entry enables access with just the pressing of the key fob, and cruise control helps keep you at a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. The EX and Turbo have a larger 10.25-inch color touch-screen display and include a smart key system with push-button engine start and wireless phone charging ability. The Turbo gets a Harman Kardon audio system with a center speaker, subwoofer, and external amplifier.

2021 Kia Soul Horsepower & Torque

The 2021 Soul is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The base LX trim pairs its engine with a 6-speed manual transmission while the S, GT-Line, X-Line, and EX get an intelligent variable transmission for a smoother driving feel and more convenient operation. The Turbo stands out with its leaner-and-meaner 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder, which outputs 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Joined to this turbo engine is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Kia Soul Safety

For restraint and cushioning in the event of an accident, the 2021 Kia Soul provides two front impact airbags, two front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and two roof-mounted side curtain airbags. Other standard safety technologies on the Soul include electronic stability control, a rearview camera, ABS, hill start assist, electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist. Trim levels above the LX  gain a host of driver-assistance technologies, including blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist. Smart cruise control and forward collision avoidance-assist with pedestrian detection can be found in the Turbo.
