What's New for the 2023 Kia Sorento?

Several exciting changes will happen for the Sorento in 2023. Every trim level now comes with blind-spot monitoring along with rear cross-traffic alert. The S trim gains a wireless charging pad, while the luxurious SX trim shows off a 12.3-inch digital gauge display. Rain-sensing windshield wipers are also standard for the SX trim level of the 2023 Kia Sorento.

What Are the 2023 Sorento Trims & Features?

Multiple trim levels are available for the 2023 Kia Sorento, starting with the entry-level LX. It is nicely equipped with six USB ports, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an 8-inch touchscreen. LED headlights are also included, plus 17-inch alloy wheels. Beginning with the S trim, the 2023 Sorento upgrades to a 10.25-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, and two additional USB ports.

The EX trim level is where the Sorento gains a hands-free power liftgate and second-row captain's chairs. A power-adjustable front passenger seat is added by the SX, while the SX Prestige is upgraded with an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a heated steering wheel, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

Models with the X-Line package equipped gain raised roof rails, dark gray-painted wheels, and silver exterior accents. All-wheel drive is standard for these models as well.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2023 Sorento Have?

There is plenty of power underneath the hood of the 2023 Sorento. The standard 2.5L engine can make 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Beginning with the EX trim level, that engine gets turbocharged to create 281 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Kia pairs the standard engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the turbo option gets a dual-clutch eight-speed instead.

What Safety Features Does the 2023 Sorento Include?

Multiple driver aids are standard across the entire 2023 Sorento line. Blind-spot monitoring is the new one, but it joins popular features such as driver attention warning, forward-collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assist. Select trim levels are also equipped with parking sensors, automatic rear braking, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera system.
