J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study was released last month and we’re proud to report that Kia shot up the list to hold the #2 spot among all automakers.
The J.D. Power study is considered to be one of the most reliable gauges of automotive quality and performance. The annual study is ranked on a consensus of 84,000 drivers who bought a 2015 model car or truck and the problems and defects that presented during the first 90 days. On this year's study, Kia ranked just below Porsche, which once again to took the top spot.
"We believe the J.D. Power report leaves no doubt that Kia builds world-class vehicles, and the results are especially gratifying as the IQS study truly reflects the voice of our customers," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of Kia Motors America.
One of the biggest reasons why some other automakers dropped in rank this year is due to faulty technology and infotainment systems. Kia seems to have avoided these problems by providing top-of-the-line technology that has become an integral part of their many new cars and SUVs. The study also found Kia's stylish interiors and easy handling to be impressive components of their overall quality.
